Senior Paraplanner
Job Description:
Senior Client-Facing Paraplanner | Chartered Financial Planning | Hybrid
Salary: Up to £50,000
Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire (Hybrid)
Our client, a highly respected independent Chartered Financial Planning firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Client-Facing Paraplanner to join its growing technical team.
It is a genuine client-facing position, designed for an experienced technical professional who enjoys attending client meetings, building long-term relationships, and playing an active role in delivering sophisticated financial planning advice—while remaining on a specialist paraplanning career path.
If you enjoy working directly with clients but have no desire to become a Financial Planner, this is a rare opportunity to build a long-term, highly respected technical career.
The Opportunity
Working alongside senior Financial Planners, you'll support high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients with complex financial planning while becoming a trusted technical expert throughout the advice process.
This role offers significant responsibility, autonomy and client exposure, giving you the opportunity to contribute directly to planning strategies rather than simply producing reports behind the scenes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending client meetings alongside Financial Planners as a key member of the advice team
- Building trusted, long-term relationships with clients
- Supporting the design and implementation of complex financial planning strategies
- Preparing high-quality suitability reports and technical recommendations
- Conducting research across pensions, investments, tax planning and protection solutions
- Managing ongoing client servicing and portfolio reviews
- Taking ownership of recommendations through to implementation
- Working closely with senior advisers on high-value client cases
- Mentoring and supporting junior paraplanners
- Maintaining exceptional technical standards and regulatory compliance
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds the Level 4 Diploma as a minimum
- Is Chartered or actively working towards Chartered status (highly desirable)
- Has at least five years' experience within paraplanning or financial planning support
- Enjoys working directly with clients and is confident in client meetings
- Has exceptional technical knowledge across pensions, investments, retirement and tax planning
- Is proactive, organised and commercially aware
- Wants to build a long-term career as a senior technical specialist rather than progressing into an adviser role
- Enjoys mentoring colleagues and sharing technical expertise
What's on Offer
- Competitive salary of up to £50,000
- Hybrid working with flexibility around client commitments
- Funded professional qualifications and ongoing study support
- Paid study and exam leave
- Annual bonus opportunities
- Pension
- Income protection
- Death in service cover
- Generous annual leave allowance
- Long-term career progression within an award-winning Chartered financial planning environment
- A collaborative culture that values technical excellence, client relationships and continuous development
Why Apply?
Opportunities like this are genuinely rare.
This is the perfect role for an experienced paraplanner who wants to remain highly technical while also enjoying meaningful client interaction and becoming an integral part of the advice process.
You'll work with sophisticated clients, contribute to complex planning strategies, and build lasting client relationships—all without leaving the technical career path you enjoy.
