My client is an established and highly respected financial planning business seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join its expanding Financial Planning team in Blackburn.

The Opportunity

As a Paraplanner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting advisers throughout the financial planning journey. You will be responsible for conducting technical research, preparing suitability reports and helping deliver tailored financial advice across a broad range of wealth management solutions.

This role would suit someone who enjoys technical analysis, problem solving and delivering exceptional client outcomes whilst continuing to develop their expertise within financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality suitability reports and recommendation documents.
  • Conduct technical research across pensions, investments, protection and retirement planning.
  • Analyse existing client arrangements and identify appropriate planning opportunities.
  • Prepare cashflow modelling and financial planning analysis where appropriate.
  • Support advisers in preparing for client meetings and annual reviews.
  • Liaise with providers to obtain technical information and policy details.
  • Ensure all recommendations meet FCA and internal compliance standards.
  • Assist with pre-sale checks and file preparation.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with advisers and administration teams to deliver an outstanding client experience.
  • Contribute ideas to improve processes, efficiencies and client outcomes.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience within a Paraplanning or Financial Planning support role.
  • Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Level 4) completed or close to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of pensions, investments, protection and retirement planning.
  • Experience preparing suitability reports.
  • Excellent technical research and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong report writing ability.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • A proactive attitude with a genuine passion for financial planning.
  • Experience using financial planning and back-office systems would be advantageous.
