My client is an established and highly respected financial planning business seeking an experienced Senior Paraplanner to join its expanding Financial Planning team in Blackburn.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Paraplanner, you will provide advanced technical support to Financial Advisers, producing complex suitability reports, carrying out detailed research and helping to deliver tailored financial planning strategies for a diverse client base.
You will also act as a technical point of reference for the wider team, supporting the development of junior paraplanners, reviewing work where appropriate and contributing to continuous improvements in processes and standards.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex financial planning challenges, maintaining exceptional technical standards and playing an active role in developing a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality suitability reports and complex recommendation documents.
- Conduct advanced technical research across pensions, investments, protection, retirement, tax and estate planning.
- Analyse existing client arrangements and identify appropriate financial planning opportunities.
- Prepare cashflow modelling and comprehensive financial planning analysis.
- Support advisers in preparing for client meetings, annual reviews and complex client cases.
- Liaise with providers to obtain technical information and policy details.
- Ensure all recommendations comply with FCA regulations and internal compliance standards.
- Review technical documentation and provide guidance to junior paraplanners where appropriate.
- Assist with quality assurance, file checking and maintaining technical standards.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with advisers, administrators and compliance teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and technical best practice.
- Mentor and support junior members of the paraplanning team.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a Paraplanning or Financial Planning support role.
- Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Level 4) as a minimum, with Chartered status achieved or actively working towards being highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of pensions, investments, protection, retirement planning and taxation.
- Strong experience preparing complex suitability reports.
- Excellent technical research and analytical skills.
- Experience supporting advisers with high-net-worth and complex client cases.
- Outstanding report writing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and service standards.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior paraplanners would be advantageous.
- A proactive mindset with a genuine passion for financial planning and continuous professional development.
- Experience using financial planning and back-office systems.
